75% of Earth’s surface is covered by water in both liquid and frozen state. So, the Earth is also called “watery planet”. Water is present everywhere on earth. Land is occupied by only three-tenths of our globe. It is the presence of water due to which life is possible on earth.

❥ The surface of Earth is about 71% covered with water, this has given the Earth the names such as “Blue Marble” and “Blue Planet”. This, in conjunction with the fact that water is vital for life on Earth, but especially for its dominant species, has earned it the name “water planet”.
