Answer ⇒ No.

Explanation ⇒ Since, Earth return to the same place after each revolution, thus total work done will always be zero. There is only one force in the universe called Gravitational force which is Conservative, thus Work done by earth is zero, weather it is horizontal or of any shape.

There is no Friction in the Universe thus no non- conservative force, thus there can be work, because Non-conservative forces may give non-zero work when the path is closed.
