  • It is essential as -
  1. It consists of various gases like oxygen, Carbon di oxide and nitrogen which are required for various life processes by plants and animals.
  2. The gases such as Co2 are used by plants to prepare food by the process called photosynthesis  
  3. The ozone layer goes about as a defensive surface, keeping harmful bright radiation from entering the Earth's air.
