The Earth's crust is made up of the solid material called rocks that constitute 1% of it's weight. Rocks vary in colour, texture, chemical composition and softness. While granite and marble are hard; sand ,limestone and clay are soft. Rocks may or may not be crystalline in their structure .The main constituents of rocks are minerals.
