The earth crust lies on the lithospheric plate. And the lithospheric plate establishes on Mantle. As Mantle is made of hot molten rock and it has a convection force too. That's why as the convection force work the plates move in a different direction (Some come towards each other and some moves apart from each other and others move side by side). Due to movement of the earth lithospheric plate, the earth crust also moves. Due to the movement, we observe some seismic activities and volcanic activities too. That we can prove it that earth crust is unstable.
