The Earth travels around the sun at a speed of 30 kilometers per second. Given that a year is 365 days, calculate the distance, in km, travelled by the Earth around the Sun in one year. Give your answer to 3 significant figures.

1 hour = 60 minutes
1 minute = 60 seconds

So 365 days = 365 * 24 * 60 * 60
= 31536000 seconds

Distance travelled by Sun = Speed of Sun * Time taken by Sun
Distance = 30 * 31536000
Distance = 946080000 kilometers
Distance = 9.4608*10^8 kilometers
