Heya ❤

it's a phrase you're trying out for an essay, then is your head really suffering from heavy cloud, lightning and thunder? In that tiny space you call a brain? A volume of about two litres, with generally no air in it apart from your sinuses and ear canals?

That's the figure of speech. Thunder in that space is impossible, yet you refer to it as though it were.

Explanation:

Plants improve air quality through several mechanisms: they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen through photosynthesis, they increase humidity by transpiring water vapor through microscopic leaf pores, and they can passively absorb pollutants on the external surfaces of leaves and on the plant root-soil system.

Plants also help keep our climate stable over time by offsetting temperature and moisture fluctuations through transpiration. Plants also use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, which slightly offsets the amount of greenhouse gas being released in the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels.

Plants For Erosion Control. The plant's roots also hold the soil in position, which makes it harder to wash away accidentally. The soil is also protected from direct rainfall, as plants help break in the impact of raindrops before they hit the ground. This helps prevent soil runoff.

Hope it helps you :)
