The ease of nucleation also depends also on- ?
Answers
Answer:
Nucleation also depends on supersaturation.
Explanation:
Nucleation is the first process in the formation of a crystal or the initial step in crystallization. Atoms or molecules cluster together and arrange themselves in a particular fashion which is characteristic of a crystalline solid, forming the position upon which further particles are accumulated as the crystal grows. The secondary nucleation depends on supersaturation. Viscosity, surface tension of formulation also affects the nucleation process. The number of nucleation sites also decreases as temperature increases. The low number of nucleation sites yields better and larger crystals. As temperature increases, there is an increase of free energy of nucleus formation and a decrease in supersaturation.
