The law itself can be stated as follows Or Boyle's law is a gas law, stating that the pressure and volume of a gas have an inverse relationship, when temperature is held constant. If volume increases, then pressure decreases and vice versa, when temperature is held constant.

At constant Temperature (T), the Volume (V) of a given mass of gas is inversally proportional to it's Pressure (P).

i.e.


V \alpha \frac{1}{P}

(At constant Temperature)


V\:= \frac{k}{P}


PV\:=\:k


P1V1\:=\:k


P2V2\:=\:k

Here,k = Constant


So,


\textbf{P1V1\:=\:P2V2}
