here the two resistors are connected in series, so as we know equivalent resistance formula for series =3 ohms +4ohms =7ohms.
Now this 7 ohms,12ohms& 6 ohms are connected in parallel, so equivalent resistance =1/7 + 1/12 + 1/6 = 12+7+14/84=33/84.
So equivalent resistance = 84 / 33 = 2.54 ohms
