Answer: LET THE RESISITANCE BE R1 AND R2

given, in series the effective resistance, R1+R2 =12 -----------a

in parallel, the effective resistance= R1*R2 /(R1+R2) = 5/3 -i---------b

substitute 'a' on 'b'

                                      R1* R2=60/3=20

              R1+ R2= 12

               R1* R2= 20

hence the resistances are 10 and 2
