the elderly being put in an old age home has both positive as well as negative effects.If a senior citizen doesn't have anybody for support an old age home is a great help for them as they can find company over there & there is always somebody there to look after them.An old age home also has its negative effects as some people who do not want to look after their aged parents send them to such old age homes  & such behavior can also have a mental affect on the elderly
