The electric current in a straight wire is constant and wire is kept along east-west line at a point in a horizontal plane. A point P is located to the north side of wire at some distance. What is the direction of magnetic induction at point P if the wire is rotated in horizontal plane by an angle 30 degree then what will be the direction at point P.

ANSWER

The direction of the magnetic field is perpendicular to the wire and is in the direction the fingers of your right hand would curl if you wrapped them around the wire with your thumb in the direction of the current.

So in this case, the direction of magnetic field from north to south is at point located directly below the wire.
