To find:

Net field intensity at centre O?

Calculation:

Here centre O can be assumed as the centroid.

Now, each of the charge exerts an field intensity as follows:

 \rm \: E =  \dfrac{kq}{ {r}^{2} }

 \rm \implies \: E =  \dfrac{k(2 \times  {10}^{ - 6}) }{ {r}^{2} }

Now, from the diagram, we can see :

  • E1, E2, E3 are equal.

  • The E vectors are at 120° to one another.

Now, when three equal vectors are inclined at 120° to one another, their net resultant becomes zero.

So, net field intensity at centre is zero.
