The charge enclosed within the cube is zero.

Given:

E_{x}=200, E_{y} = E_{z}= 0

To Find:

Charge enclosed within the cube.

Solution:

We have been given that E_{y} = E_{z}= 0, i.e. electric field along y and  axes is zero.

According to Gauss law,

E.ds =  Q_{enclosed} / ∈o

Since E = 0 along the x and y axes, Q_{enclosed}= 0.

Now, along the x-axis, E_{x}=200 i.e. electric field is constant and does not vary with distance from the origin.

Therefore net incoming flux = net outgoing flux

Hence Ф_{net} = 0.

We know that electric flux for a  surface is given by

Ф=   Q_{enclosed}/ ∈o

Since Ф= 0,

Q_{enclosed} = 0.

Therefore, charge enclosed within the cube is zero.
