we know
work done = -qΔV
:. -e (-40-20 )= ( 60e J)

W(b->a) = -∆V
=-(Vb-Va)
=-(20-(-40))
=-60eV
=-60 x (1.6x10^-19)J
=-9.6x10^-18
=>Work done due to external force = -9.6x10^-18J
=> Work done due to electrostatic force=+9.6x10^-18
