option c. 3s2 3p3...because here its said B has ea -60 kj. so it must be stable configuration. we know stable configurated atoms does not want other electrons

Answer

Option(d) 3s2 3p2 will be the electronic configuration of B.

Explanation

Electron affinity increases across the periods generally, but exception is at half filled p-orbital which is stable. So, 3s2 3p3 has less Ea among these.

If p- orbital is half filled it will be have highest ionising energy and electron affinity of it will be less

So the outer electronic configuration of element B is 3s2 3p2.

Final answer: optionD-3s2 3p2
