The electronic configuration of metal A is 28.1 and that of metal B is 2, 8, 2 which of the

Sodium metal reacts violently with dilute hydrochloric acid to form sodium chlorides and hydrogen.

2Na(a) + 2HCl(aq)→ 2NaCl(aq) + H2(g)

And Magnesium reacts less vigorously to form magnesium chloride and hydrogen.

Mg + 2HCl → MgCl2 + H2
