The electronic configuration of two elements A and B are 2,8,3 and 2,8,7 respectively. Find the atomic number of these elements. State the nature and formula of the compound formed by the union of these two elements.

The electronic configuration of  elements A IS  2,8,3

means atomic no is = 13 which is Al (Aluminium )

element B has electronic configuration 2,8,7  

means atomic no is  = 17 , which is of chlorine  .

The compound formed is Al Cl₃

nature of the compound will be covalent    .

Element B is Chlorine

The compound of the elements will be AlCl3

It acidic in nature

It is a covalent bond
