electron from each C atom are free to move along the length of the molecule. Using the
1D box model calculate,
(i) the energies of the electrons in the g.s.
(ii) the wavelength of the longest wavelength absorption band
The length of C=C bond is 1.35 °A and the length of C-C bond is 1.54 °A.
