The electrostatic force between 2 charges in air is 10N. if the charges were trippled, and the distance between them is reduced to half of its initial value, what will be the force now?

Answer: The force between the two charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. Hence, if distance between charges is halved (charges remaining kept constant), the force between the two charges is quadrupled.
