Atomic Number = 17
Element = Chlorine

Number of electrons : 17

Electronic configuration : 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p5 .

As the differentiating electron enters the P sub shell.
Hence chlorine belongs to P block .

Period = 3

Group = 17

Hello Dear.

Here is your answer---

The Atomic Number = 17

Electronic Configuration of the Element = 1s
² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s²3p⁵

Since the Electrons of the Elements enters into the P sub shells,the Block of the Given Elements is P.

Now, For Group and Period of the Elements--

Electronic Configuration of the Element = 2,8,7

Since, Number of Shells is 3, thus the Period of the Element is also 3.

Since the element is belonging to P Block,

Thus, Group Number = Number of Valence electrons + 10
                                   = 7 + 10
                                   = 17

Hope it helps.

Have a Marvelous Day.
