The elements Be, Mg and Ca each having two electrons in their outermost shells are in periods 2, 3, and 4 respectively of the modern periodic table. Answer the following questions, giving justification in each
case :
(i) Write the group to which these elements belong.
(ii) Name the least reactive element.
(iii) Name the element having largest atomic radius.

They exist. 2 nd group and 2 nd preiod of preidoic table

here is your answer !!!

1) these elements belongs to second group (2nd group ) .

as they also belongs to second period .

2) as we move. upper to bottom reactivity increase !!

hence , there is series of :-

Be

Mg

Ca

hence , moving down reactivity increase .

so less REACTIVE metal will be " Be " or berilliym

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈===========================

3) As we know that on moving downward number of electons are going to add .

but valency doesn't chance !!!

hence , moving downward there is increases in atomic radius .

hence ,. calcium. or " Ca" have largest atomic radius !!
