The elements of the second second Period of the periodic table are given along li,be,b,c,n,o,f and give reason to explain why atomic radius decreases from like to f and identify the most metallic and nonmetallic elements

Anonymous: Because in the second period of the periodic table the no. electron shells remain the same but as we move towards right in a period the no. of protons in the nucleus increase gradually therefore they attract the shells with greater force thereby decreasing the atomic radius.
Anonymous: most metallic element is Li(lithium) and most non metallic is F(Fluorine).
abhiahlawat: Thanks
Anonymous: my pleasure

abhiahlawat: What physical and chemical properties of element were used by Mendeleev in creating his periodic table list observation which posed a challenge to Mendeleev's periodic table
Anonymous: reassess ur question bro... i think u've written it wrong ...

because the force of attraction of the nucleus decreases in a period, since their atomic number increases(li to fl)and the most metallic element is Li and nonmetallic element is F though oxygen also considered...
