Elements In A Specific Group Have Similar Electronic Configuration. Since The Chemical Properties Of Elements Depends Upon The Number Of Electrons In The Outermost Shell, Elements In The Same Group Have Similar Properties.

For Example, Group 17th Elements (Halogens) Have Same Electronic Configuration i.e. all Elements Of This Group Have 1 Electron It Its Valence Shell. Thus They Show Similar Properties.

Some properties of Group 17th Elements are as follows :)
⭐They are coloured non-metals
⭐They are very reactive and thus are found in Combined State.
⭐They firm negative ions carrying a single charge
