The elevation of the basement floor in a building is -14 ft. The elevation of the roof is 36 feet. What is the distance from the basement floor to the roof?

if the elevation is negetive it is a depression
Hence
14+36=50
Hence 50Ft is your answer

As, the basement floor of the building is -14 ft. and the elevation will start from 36ft. So, the distance from the basement to the roof is of course the sum of them.
