Board of directors -
Each and Every co-operative society needs a board of directors which plays an important role and acts as managing executive.
Board of directors is generally elected by its members. All co-operative societies elect a board of directors to run the organisation on behalf of its members.
Election Process -
The Election Process depends on voting procedures which is used in co-operative societies. The members of the co-operative society are allowed to vote online or by post.
The duty of the Register is to prepare the voters list with eligible members to arrange for holding Election of directors. The Election process generally starts before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and ends with the same meeting.
In smaller co-operative societies, the members are able to vote at the AGM in person. Whereas In larger co-operative societies members are able to vote for their representatives at regional meetings and the representatives are allowed to vote for the board of directors on behalf of its members.
