The EMF of a cell is 10 V and its internal resistance is 2 ohm. The cell is connected to a resistor of 8 ohm. Calculate the amount of heat in Joule that will be produced in the resistor in 60 seconds​

In this case, the total resistance is given as 3Ω+3Ω+6Ω=12ohms. From the ohm's law the total current can be calculated from the formula I=V/R. =1.25A.

Hence, the current through the battery is 1.25 amperes
