SHE is used as anode.

To Find :

Potential of the given electrode.

Solution:

Let potential of given electrode is e.

SHE is Standard electrode potential.

Potential of SHE = 0.00V

Also, SHE is used as anode

Emf of cell = E°(anode) - E°(cathode)

1.37 = 0.00 - e

e = -1.37V

E°(cathode) = -1.37V

Hence, potential of given electrode is -1.37V.
