hence ,

therefore cd = 840

d = 840 / c

and ( c + 1 ) ( d - 2 ) = 840

( c + 1 ) ( 840 / c - 2 ) = 840

( c + 1 ) ( 840 - 2c ) = 840

840c + 840 - 2c^2 - 2c = 840c

c^2 + c - 420 = 0

c^2 + 21c - 20c - 420 = 0

( c + 21 ) ( c - 20 ) = 0

c = 20 , - 21

hence , the cost of one dozens is 20 Rs .
