:
Sun radiates energy because of the Nuclear Fusion taking place in its core at a very large extent under very high temperatures and pressure. Due to this fusion, photons (light energy) and heat energy is produced.

:
• nuclear fusion, refers to a nuclear reaction when two or more nuclei join or fuse to form a single and heavier nucleus.
• The sun also produces gamma rays due to the nuclear reaction, the very high energy photons then get converted to lower energy photons before they can reach the surface of the sun and ultimately are emitted in space.
• This radiant energy from the nuclear fusion reaction is generally called solar radiation that eventually creates electromagnetic energy.
The solar radiation spectrum is very close to a black body having a temperature of around 5800K and this also explains that the sun is almost a black body, and can emit any amount of energy.
This is concluded that the ' Fusion' reaction is the source of energy in stars.

Answer:

Due to fusion, the energy is emitted by the sun.

Explanation:

The Sun's solar radiation has a spectrum that is similar to a black body with a temperature of roughly 5,800 K. The majority of the electromagnetic spectrum is covered by solar radiation. Although the nuclear fusion process in the Sun results in the production of gamma rays, these extremely high-energy photons are changed into lower-energy photons before they leave the Sun's surface and travel into space. In a nuclear reaction known as nuclear fusion, two or more atomic nuclei combine to form a single, heavier nucleus. Because some of the mass of the fusing nuclei is transformed into the energy that is released, the matter is not preserved during this process. Active stars are propelled by the process of fusion.

The fusion of two nuclei heavier than iron typically absorbs energy, while the fusion of two nuclei lighter than iron typically releases energy. Iron and nickel have the highest binding energies per nucleon.

Fusion is what causes the sun to emit energy.
