This can be also justified by 10 percent law

For eg

Deer feed on grass . It use maximum amount of energy in its daily activity and metabolic function .So very less amount of energy can be gained by lion who feeds on it.

The number of organism decreases because the amount of energy decrease .

As when there is less energy only some of the same level organism will survive as they require more food to survive .
