According to Bohr's theory , energy of electron in nth orbit is inversely proportional to square of n² .
e.g.,\bold{\mathbb{E}\propto\frac{1}{n^2}}

given, energy of electron in 3rd orbit, E₃ = -E ---(1)
Let energy in 1st orbit is E₁
Then, E₁/E₃ = (3)²/(1)² = 9
E₁ = 9E₃
from equation (1),
E₁ = -9E

Hence, option (d) is correct
