let no. of children = c
let no. of adults = a
so the Ist equation is = c + a = 13
and 2nd equation is = 5c + 15a =115
and by using these eq. you my friend can solve the problem- by putting the value of c from eq. 1 in eq. 2nd and the answer is
no. of children = 8
no. of adults = 5

Given : The entry ticket for an exhibition is rupees 5 for children and Rupees 15 for adults

A group of 13 person visited this exhibition and paid rupees 115 to buy the tickets.

To Find : the number of children and adults in the group.

Solution:

number of children = C

number of Adults = A

A group of 13 person visited

C + A = 13

The entry ticket for an exhibition is rupees 5 for children

Hence Ticket amount for children  = 5C

The entry ticket for an exhibition is rupees 15 for Adult

Hence Ticket amount for Adults  =15A

paid rupees 115 to buy the tickets

=> 5C  + 15A  = 115

=> C + 3A = 23

C + 3A = 23

C + A = 13

=> 2A = 10

=> A = 5

=> C = 8

number of children and adults in the group. are 8 and 5 respectively
