The three advantages of this coating are :-
1) It protects the plants by mechanical injuries.
2) It protects against the water loss . ( transpiration )
3) It protects against the invasion by parasitic fungi .

The role of cutin in plants is that :-
1. They are waxy and waterproof, so they water loss from the surface of leaves, thus reducing the rate of transpiration..
2. It protects the plant against mechanical injuries and attacks of parasitic fungi or bacteria...
3. Cutin helps the plant to conserve water in itself..When it prevents water loss, less transpiration takes place, so plants have more water for themselves..
