The area of this triangle is 24 cm².

Given - Equal sides and perimeter

Find - Area of triangle

Solution - The area of isosceles triangle is calculated by the formula -

 \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h

In this formula, b represents base and h represents height

Firstly calculating base of the triangle using perimeter.

Perimeter = 2*Equal sides + Base

28 = 2*10 + Base

28 = 20 + Base

Base = 28 - 20

Bade = 8 cm

Now calculating height of the triangle using Pythagoras theorem.

Hypotenuse ² = Base ² + perpendicular ²

10² = 8² + Perpendicular²

100 = 64 + Perpendicular²

Perpendicular² = 100 - 64

Perpendicular ² = 36

Perpendicular =  \sqrt{36}

Perpendicular = 6 cm

Now, calculating area of triangle.

Area =

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 8 \times 6

Performing multiplication and division

Area =

4 \times 6

Area = 24 cm²

Hence, the area of triangle is 24 cm².
