The equation for aerobic respiration shows that one molecule of Glucose gives 686 kcal of energy.
But in the aerobic respiration, one molecule of Glucose on oxidation yields 36 ATP or 252 kcal of energy only. Why is there a huge difference in the energy produced even though both refer to aerobic respiration ?
