c3h7oh + _o2  gives  _co2  +_h2o

c3h7oh contains 3 c atoms and 8 h atoms.

so the no of co2 formed will be 3 as there are 3 carbon atoms

and no of h2o formed will be 4 as there are 8 (4×2)  h atoms

so, c3h7oh  +_o2  gives  3 co2  + 4 h2o

now calculating the no of O atoms on the RHS we get 10

so LHS should contain 10 O atoms

so on calculating

no of O2 will be 9/2

so no of O atoms = 2×(9/2)

                               =9
