The equation of a function is y= 2/3x + 1/3. Find

(a) the value of y when

(i) x=-3
(ii) x=1 1/2

(b) the value of x when

(i) y = 1
(ii) y= -1/6

Answer:

Given equation is 3x+ay=6 and solution x=1 and y=1

3x+ay=6

Put the value x=1 any y=1 we get

3×1+a×1=6

⇒3+a=6

⇒a=6−3

⇒a=3
