  • x₁ = 4.
  • y₁ = -2.
  • x₂ = -1
  • y₂ = 3

First, you find the gradient of the line using the formula :

\to \sf m=\dfrac{(y_2-y_1)}{(x_2-x_1)}

Substitute.

\to \sf m=\dfrac{(3-(-2))}{(-1-4)}

\to \sf m=-1

Now use the formula:

\to \sf (y-y_1) = m(x-x_1)

Where x and y are variables.

\to \sf (y-(-2)) = -1(x-4)

\to \sf y+2= -x+4

\to \sf x+y= 2
