Answer:

x-2y+3=0

Step-by-step explanation:

equation of a line passes through a point ( x1, y1 )

and it's slope be m.

=> y-y1 = m (x- x1).....................(1)

given

since line is perpendicular to the line

2x+y= 5=> y= -2x+5 having slope m1= -2

l=> m×m1= -1=> m(-2)= -1 => m= 1/2

( x1,y1). = ( -1, 1)

substituting the value in (1)

y-1= (1/2) [x-(-1) ]

y-1= (1/2)(x+1)

2y-2= x+1

x-2y+3= 0 is the eqn of the line.
