Answer:

x^2 = -12y

Step-by-step explanation:

since focus lies on y - axis.

hence equation is either :- x^2=4ay    and   x^2= -4ay

Now , focus has a negative y co-ordinate

SO, we have to use equation x^2 = -4ay

co-ordinate of focus = (0,-a)

                      (0,-a) = (0,-3)

                            -a = -3

                             a = 3

The equation of parabola is

           x^2 = -4ay

           x^2 = -4(3)y

           x^2 = -12y
