As per definition, Molecular weight = Vapour density X 2

Molecular weight = 59.25 X 2 = 118.5 g

Molecular weight of metal chloride = 118.5 g

Molecular weight of chlorine (Cl) = 35.5 g

Valency = Molecular weight of metal chloride/(Equivalent weight of metal + Molecular weight of chloride )

Valency = 118.5\(9 + 35.5)

Valency = 2.66

Equivalent weight of metal = Molecular weight of metal/Valency

Atomic or Molecular mass of metal = 9 X 2.66 = 23.9 g
