As the potential difference near the end of resistor of resistance 2 ohms is same the given two resistors are connected in parallel

Equivalent resistance when two resistors are connected in paralle = 1/R = 1/r1 + 1/r2

1/R = 1/2 + 1/2

1/R = 2/2

R = 2/2

R = 1 ohm

The equivalent resistance between A and B is 1 ohm

∴ The resistance joined in series is equal to the sum of the reciprocal of the individual resistance.

➦ 1/RS =1/R1+ 1/R2

➭ 1/RS = 1/ 2r + 1/2r

➭ 1/RS= 2/2r

➭ RS= 1 ohm

∴ The equivalent resistance across AB is 1 ohm.
