siril: 'cause it belongs to the first group
nandooo: im sorry report my answer please
vijaya2002: the element is tin
siril: so, tin's equivalent weight is 4?
vijaya2002: yes
siril: It isn't Tin.
siril: It is some metal of atomic weight 12
siril: The metal need not exist, just given for solving purpose
siril: as its valency is 3, Equivalent weight = 12/3 = 4

mol.wt=2*vapour density

=2*59.25=118.5

no.of Cl atoms can be accomodated in 118.5g are 3

mol.wt of 3 Cl atoms=3*35.5=106.5

atomic weight=118.5-106.5=12

valency=at.wt/eq.wt

=12/4=3

:.the valency is 3

raunak00000123pcqgut: thanks
