The estimated coal reserves are said to be enough to last us
for another two hundred years. Do you think we need to worry
about coal getting depleted in this case? Why or why not?

The given estimate of coal running out in 200 years can only take place if other sources of energy like gas and oil are used to supplement the provision of energy.

The other reality is that coal can also be depleted by 2088 if we stop exploring the other sources of energy like gas and oil. Production of these are sources of energy like gas an oil have really helped to fill the gap. The carbon emission that would take place from burning that much coal could be devastating.

Therefore, can coal be depleted in 200 years? The answer is NO,  this is because new reserves will be found which will make this source of energy last longer. Even though it will not last forever, it will give us more time to find more reserves that will again prolong the duration to far more than 200years that was the initial estimate.
The only challenge is that the new reserves will be harder to find and will be significantly smaller compared to the reserves that have been found in the past.

Answer:

we can worry because if we dont find the replacement for coal then it will be a huge loss, as coal is efficient. even if we find it , its not sure that it would be as efficinet as coal. on the other hand coal emits lot of pollution (CO2) causing global  warming.
