Until we humans globalize the use of alternatives to harvesting petroleum and other like fuels, most of our lives will continue to be centered around fossil fuels and other naturally occurring fuels. The United States gets 81% of its total energy from oil, coal, and natural gas, all of which are fossil fuels. We depend on those fuels to heat our homes, run our vehicles, power industry and manufacturing, and provide us with electricity. So, in this day and age, everyday life would not be possible without burning petroleum, coal, fossil fuels, etc.
