Given - Excess pressure of bubble X is 4 times the excess pressure of bubble Y.

Find - The ratio of their volumes Vx/Vy

Solution - In case of soap bubble, excess pressure is 4T/R while in case of air bubble, excess pressure is 2T/R.

In both the cases, excess pressure is inversely proportional to radius.

Thus, Px/Py = 4 and hence Ry/Rx = 4.

Now, volume is directly proportional to R³.

Therefore, Vx/Vy = (Rx/Ry)³ = (1/4)³ = 1/64.

Hence, 1:64 is the correct answer.
