Given :-

Original price = 1160

Reduced price = 870

To Find :-

The percentage reduction.

Solution :-

Total price reduced = 1160 - 870 = 290

Reduction\: percent\: =\: {\dfrac{reduced\: amount}{Original\: price}}\: \times 100

On inserting the values in the formula

We get ,

Reduction\: percent\: =\: {\dfrac{290}{1160}}\: \times 100

= 25

Therefore, Reduced percentage = 25%

Verification :-

Reduction\: percent\: =\: {\dfrac{reduced\: amount}{Total\: amount}}\: \times 100

25\: =\: {\dfrac{290}{1160}}\: \times 100

=> 25 = 25

Since LHS = RHS, Hence Verified.
