Hey mate, here's ur answer,

Different solids expand to different extent though the sizes are same. Because the expansion depends on the molecular vibration. As they vibrate differently though the size is same, the expansion will ocurr to the different extent.

I don't agree that the expansion in all solids of equal size when their temperature is increased by the same amount is the same.

• The thermal expansion of the solid materials is dependent upon the following things :

- Size of the solid.

- Given amount of temperature.

- Thermal expansion coefficient of the solid.

• Now,the first two things are same in the given condition but the third thing will be different because different solids have different thermal expansion coefficient.

• That's why the thermal expansion will be observed in different amounts.
